Below is to how to fix your Canon printer iP1300 from such a damn freaking 5100 error, like you've seen on this picture:
- Turn off the printer first
- Open the printer and check that the carriage moves without an obstruction over the full travel (left to right and back).
- Check that the ink cartridge is properly installed. Also look at the gears to confirm they are reasonably clean (no debris in the cogs of the gears such as paper or paper clip).
- Clean dust and debris from the carriage area.
- The position strip (a plastic strip about 1/4" wide on some printers) may be need to be cleaned.
and below is the self-test for it in which you don't have to connect it to your computer:
1. Turn on the printer.
2. Press the continue button 4x quickly.
3. And your Canon printer will begin to run a print test.

If the printer still experiencing the error, please contact the nearest Canon service center or you can just throw it to your nearest trash bin.
